The Reel Stramash is a Glasgow-based Scottish ceilidh band which specialises in offering a cheerful and thrilling show and have all your guests up on their feet and dancing the night away. What is included in the wedding package?

The Reel Stramash is able to cater for any event by providing a tailor made package to suit your own requirements. With our experience, we know what makes a great evening of entertainment. We offer as much as we can for your big day. The Reel Stramash is able to offer you: A Ceilidh Band: This usually consists of two accordions and a drummer, but if needed we can supply keyboard, guitar, bass guitar and fiddle to give your function that 'big band' sound. Disco: We provide a free disco as standard! For those unable to keep up with the fast paced and lively ceilidh dancing, the disco always offers some welcome respite. Acoustic Reception Band: A traditional Scottish band, ideal for background music or walking down the aisle. Piper: Need a piper for your big day? Then look no further. The Reel Stramash can supply a piper into your overall package; all you have to do is ask!

How far in advance should I contact you?

As far in advance as is possible to save any disappointment as we normally take wedding bookings up to two years in advance. If however you contact us a week in advance and we are still free, then we would be more than happy to perform at your wedding

Is it possible to request something that's not in the repertoire?

Of course. As long as the band is informed a few weeks in advance we would be more than happy to try and cater any special requests

What's your experience?

The band has a wealth of experience playing at the highest level. All the members have competed with their chosen instrument at National and International Competitions. The band can lay claim to many titles such as British Advanced Solo Champion, British Musette Open Champion, Irish Open Light Classical Section and many more. The band has also played numerous venues from Cameron House to the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow. Members of the band have also played in Stirling Castle as well as abroad in Cologne, Germany. Despite their relative youth, the band is highly experienced having played in many of the wedding venues throughout Scotland, meaning that they will always be at their best, no matter where or when your event is!

What is the length of time of the act?

How long do you need us for? The band is willing to play all night if you feel that it would be appropriate! We supply a disco at no extra charge so the balance between ceilidh and disco is up to you. We are there to make your wedding a success and we expect to be completely flexible to suit your needs

How much time do you need to prepare for an act?

The usual set up time for our act is one hour

How do you charge extra time?

The quote is completely tailored to your event but we usually charge extra for playing past 1am or if we have to start playing before 5pm

We usually take a deposit by cheque when the initial booking is made with the rest being paid on the night by either cash or cheque
