About Mazz Loxton, Hair and Makeup Artistry
Did you know, before I trained as a hair and makeup artist, I actually worked in a bridal boutique in the summer of 2015 between my 2nd and 3rd year at uni? I absolutely love working with brides, so when I qualified in 2016, as well as working in other areas of the industry, it was important to me that I could also still work with brides.
Since moving to Sheffield, I have made working with brides my main priority, whilst still keeping my hand in with a bit of film and tv work, commercial work, and working regularly at a local photography studio, specialising in Boudoir and Confidence Boosters.
Mazz offers a range of hair and makeup services for your big day, and is also available to stay for touch ups throughout the day, and can even set up a mini makeover station for your evening guests! Additional services include: Tattoo Cover up, colour correction, false lashes, airbrush makeup.
How she works
It's really important to me that you look and feel comfortable in your hair and makeup for your wedding, and that you also still look like yourself! Whether you are used to wearing minimal to no makeup on a daily basis, or whether you can't leave the house without a pair of lashes on, I love working to a brief! It's always great for me to be able to see any inspiration photos. However don't worry if you're not sure! I am more than happy to create your hair and makeup look with you by taking inspiration from your dress, venue and other elements of your big day. I love working with airbrush, so this is always something I discuss with you in the lead up to the trial in case it is something you would like to try!
Your trial is not only a fantastic opportunity to create your bespoke hair and makeup look for your wedding day, to see what suits you, what you like or don't like, but also for us to get to know each other! It can be really nerve wracking meeting people for the first time on your wedding day, so having the opportunity for us to get to know each other before hand allows for things to flow much more smoothly on the day. It is also a great opportunity to ask me any questions and to have a good look at what I carry in my kit! My kit is constantly evolving, which is one of the reasons I advise having your trial no more than 3 months before your big day, ideally between 6-8 weeks beforehand.
In the lead up to the wedding, I will work with you to create a schedule to make sure that you and your bridal party are all ready in plenty of time to allow for some touch ups, help you with your veil and any other accessories, and make sure I have packed away by the time your transport arrives! Should you then wish for me to stay for touch ups for your photos, I can bring a touch up kit with me, alternatively I can provide you with a few pins, a mini hairspray, a small sample of your bespoke lip colour (I usually mix together about 4 or 5 different shades of lipstick to get your perfect colour!) and some blotting paper to keep you looking fresh throughout the day!
