    Beautiful venue

    Beautiful venue.

After arranging a very special family occasion with the mother and daughter duo (mel & jan) and handing over the best part of almost £2, 000 for exclusive hire and as it states on their website berrowcourt. Co. Uk
Can we bring our own outside catering? "Yes, we have a full on-site commercial kitchen should you or an outside caterer choose to use it. However, we can offer a range of delicious canapé packages, 3-course wedding breakfasts, evening snacks and buffet options. "
Only to be told on the day, we didn't agree to you using my kitchen!

We booked and paid for a wonderful performer who sings and plays all the old classic music thats tasteful and not bassi at all, only to be told "its a residential area, the neighbours complain". (Surely you have appropriate entertainment licences in place? ) And our poor entertainer had to sing into an empty room inside and was also told at one point "the window has to be closed because of the bass" (when its a boiling hot day! ) And then finding out that the week after your event "romeo/so solid is performing is an actual piss take as we did feel at one point it was a personal sabotage which is cruel they should feel so ashamed.

Events such as blessings, weddings birthday parties important milestone events need care, attention and trying to get hold of these people is infuriating to say the least, the level of unprofessional bad management is profound, even the members of staff were heard complaining to one another and even telling guests that they are always the same, nothing is ever organised or coordinated properly.

The bar is stocked with refreshments yes but the bottles of ridiculously over priced aldi wine is illegal along with the multi pack cans of coke!
Non measurements of spirits again illegal and inaccurate charges of drinks i. E 1 bill £7. 50 pink gin & tonic then £5? Trading standards would have a field day!

The staff were very helpful, door men, some of the bar staff although a number of guests pointed out that some of the female bar staff where dressed very inappropriately in very revealing dresses, we were then advised by multiple guests they were known as "ladies of the night", which is totally disrespectful, is it a brothel?

On 1 of the days we had a final meeting scheduled we were told by the daughter mel it wasn't for today, you didn't confirm, oh can you come back in an hour (basically she was still in bed).
On more than 1 occasion we nearly cancelled and we did on occasions feel like they would pull out at times because they were so unreliable.

We were promised plates, cutlery, a cleaning down service after the event by their "in house team", chairs garden seating all by the apparent events manage/owner mel but then the mom jan butts in half way through after you have agreed in principal paid deposits etc that she did not agree to any of that and the daughter cowers in the corner and doesn't stand up to her agar mother! Which makes her look absolutely stupid.

The ignorant arrogant tyrant mother jan had the audacity to ask our caterers for a plate of food for her "boyfriend" as he is from alum rock and eats this sort of stuff, but i won't. Who does that?

To say we were very unhappy at the level of service received is an understatement and honestly before you visit berrow court do your research as i am not the only unhappy customer they have had in the past. It is an unbelievable setting but we really must not allow behaviour such as this to continue as consumers and good honest paying customers we have rights. There are plenty of other fabulous venues who would be more than happy for your business. I for one will never return or give them my business or refer any friends, family or associates ever. What a shame as independent businesses thrive off word of mouth!
I am now making contact with the local council trading standards to report the issues around the alcohol.
