Facilities and capacity
The Castle Courtyard was restored twenty-five years ago. The two main reception rooms lead off from a central hall:
The Castle Barn is next to the Castle Courtyard. This reception space gives you the option of holding a much larger wedding celebration, as it can hold up to 400 guests. Smaller weddings can be accommodated by partitioning it off. The Castle Barn contains the following:
Booking at Lissanoure Castle, you'll have the opportunity to work with a professional and friendly team.
The Lissanoure dates to the 1300s. There are conflicting records as to who built the castle. Some records state Sir Philip Savage and others Richard Og de Burgh, second Earl of Ulster. It was bought by George Macartney in 1733, from the Irish Parliament, and he owned it for 54 years.
As the Lissanoure was passed down through generations of families, it remained part of the Macartney family until 1994 when the Mackie family purchased it. The Mackies have worked hard to preserve the traditional family estate with farming and forestry. Restoration continues with the hope of someday providing rooms for an overnight stay.
The Lissanoure Castle is 45 minutes away from Belfast International Airport. Dublin Airport is 2.5 hours away. Hotel accommodations can be found at the Scenic Inn just eight minutes north of the castle. Family and friends might also enjoy a night out at Patton's bar, which is just a seven minute drive from the estate.

Patricia and all the staff were extremely helpful, flexible and accommodating during the entire planning process. We were married at Lissanoure Castle on 25th July 2015 and it was the most beautiful day in every way due in no small part to the absolutely amazing care and attention to detail of Sheryl, Trisha and Amanda along with the rest of the staff. Our wedding was a very moving and bitter-sweet occasion for our family and Lissanoure were so thoughtful and sensitive towards us all. Everything was perfect, nothing was too much trouble and all our family and friends will be talking about it for years to come.Sent on 06/10/2015
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the most perfect wedding day we could have ever wished for.
