About Alton Castle
Alton Castle based in the Staffordshire Morrlands has a wonderful history of service and hospitality. It is a grade 2 listed neo-Gothic building built in 1847 and designed by A W Pugin, who also designed the Houses of Parliment. Set within the beautiful Churnet Valley, the stunning venue is perfect for "weekend wedding" receptions. It’s not surprising when you consider the spectacular views of the Churnet Valley, Alton Castle offers the perfect backdrop for photographs.
Facilities and capacity
The venue can be exclusively hired to you from 4 pm Friday until 4 pm Sunday. The Banqueting Hall, featuring stained glass windows and rib vaulted ceiling, can seat up to 90 and can accommodate up to 200 guests for the evening reception. The two other large function rooms along with an impressive lawn at the front of the castle, are ideal for pre-dinner drinks. Accommodation is available for up to 95 guests.
The package offers customised services, including bespoke decorations. Chosen caterers are allowed for weddings and full use of castle commercial kitchens and equipment is offered.
